Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium – What is it?
Pupil Premium funding is additional funding given to schools so that we can support our disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between these children and their classmates by drawing on evidence of effective practice.
Funding is based on children who have registered for a 'free school meal' at any point in the last 6 years (called the Ever6 count). This is different to the free school meal that all infant children are entitled to. Please check the 'free school meal' link to see if your child is eligible. The funding is also available to children that have been in care for more than six months and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.
If your child qualifies for free school meals, it’s important that you tell us – even if they have a packed lunch – as this enables us to claim Pupil Premium funding and therefore offer your child increased support. Please click the link below to apply.

How does it work?
Each school decides how to spend the pupil premium funding because we know our children best. Evidence suggests that pupil premium spending is most effective when schools use a tiered approach targeting spending across 3 areas: Teaching, targeted academic support and wider approaches.
